How would you know it is time to detox?

The usual signs could be:

Follow a more plant-based Mediterranean diet

Everything we eat, drink, breathe in, apply to our skin, and take as medicine or supplements, has either a positive or negative effect on all the cells in the body. Unfortunately, our modern Westernised diets are filled with too much animal protein, dairy products, sugar and refined and processed foods. Few follow a more plant-based Mediterranean diet and drink ample quantities of water daily. Hence why fasting or limiting food intake, avoiding sugar, caffeine, processed, preserved and fast foods, overeating and drinking, allows the body time to clean and restore the cells which will not only bring healing to the body but will reduce acidity too. You can expect to develop a headache as you start the process of detoxing which usually will last for not more than 24 to 48 hours.

Choose which remedies you believe you require and use these as directed for at least 6 weeks. This is a good time duration if you want to do a lasting cleanse, however, even a short cleanse can be of great benefit.

Who needs to do a cleanse or detox? Most probably all people need to do a detox twice per year. This will reduce oxidative stress levels which results in long-term degenerative disease markedly. Oxidative stress is present in all people just by the mere fact that we are alive – it is part of metabolism.

What better feeling is there than after a hard day’s work or long exercise when you are tired, you soak in a bath or have a warm shower, you drink a tall glass of water followed by a delicious meal full of goodness and you sleep like a baby, waking fresh and rested the next day! This is how your whole body feels on the inside when you have been through a good detox – full of life, full of energy, and brimming with wellness.
